On this page, we will honor our esteemed Nortehanons. People who make a difference—the most ordinary person who genuinely offered an extraordinary act of kindness when it is most needed; an unforgettable teacher; a farmer who has toiled so hard so his child can go to college; a historian who helps keep the history and culture of Nortehanon alive. The list is endless. Whoever you may be, you are important.
This page is for YOU.

Featured NORTEHANON
This month and every month, we offer this space to honor and celebrate the Nortehanon spirit.
If you know an individual, family, enterprise, or organization whose inspiring story must be shared, please write to us through media [at] nikodaza.com.
It doesn’t have to be something “big” or someone who is “popular.” What we wish to acknowledge, honor, and celebrate are the acts of kindness, integrity, dedication, courage, hard work, passion for learning (and arts/culture), and compassion—pretty much the values that we Nortehanons and Filipinos are known for.
This is only a small way of passing on the goodness; believing in the power of heartfelt STORIES to inspire, empower, and make a difference.
For your recommendations /nominations, we will appreciate the following information:
(1) Name of the individual, family, enterprise, or organization being recommended for a feature in this page (please indicate “Featured NORTEHANON” and the name of your nominee /recommendation in your email Subject Line).
(2) Contact details and information whether he /them are aware of the nomination (it is alright to send an anonymous recommendation /nomination but please let us know if it were the case). NOTE: In the case of anonymous nomination/recommendation, our office will be the one to contact the nominee/recommended person/family/organization to seek his/their consent.
(3) Reason for the nomination /recommendation as well as ample details, for example, “I nominate Mr. Juan Dela Cruz for “Featured Nortehanon” because he was my teacher in high school and we could not forget the way he mentored all of us in our History/Social Science classes. He has a very clear and inspiring way of teaching. He made us deeply aware of the lives and sacrifices of our great heroes, always making it a point that lessons are not only memorized but, more importantly, reflected in how we live our lives as Nortehanons and Filipinos.”
It could also be as simple as experiencing an extraordinary and random act of kindness. For example, “I recommend Mrs. Juana Dela Cruz to be considered for “Featured Nortehanon” because, one time, I was very hungry and did not have money for lunch. Dumaan po ako sa carinderia nya to request for a glass of water. Nagulat na lang po ako, inalok nya ako ng libreng lunch. Hindi ko po talaga makakalimutan ito.”
(4) Picture/s of the nominee /recommended person /family/organization.
(5) Names of references (and their contact details) or those willing to be interviewed if the nominated person /family/ organization will be featured in this page. Please ensure that their consent had been given before sharing their contact details to us. (We pledge that their contact details will not be shared with personnel /entities outside of the assigned team.)
(6) Body of work (if applicable) - for example, if the nominee /recommended person is an artist, images of his/her art works or URL of his/her website.
(7) Other relevant information, for example, if nominee is already a retired teacher, please indicate his last known affiliation/office.
Important note: Nominations /recommendations of people /organizations from all walks of life are welcome and will be appreciated, except for those who are currently holding public offices or political and elective roles /positions or are known to be eyeing political offices in the future.
Thank you for your nomination and for believing in and honoring our Nortehanon culture, values, and heritage!

“Destiny and God-source placed us here. We may struggle with a lot of questions and challenges, on a day-to-day basis, but always—we still find reasons to go on and keep on doing our best.
We all have different reasons…but I think thread that binds us is the profound joy that life gives us, be it from acts of kindness, no matter how random they could be, or a moving work of art. We all share these empowering stories.
This page is our way of honoring those who continue to inspire us. ”
